My partner Steve and I headed south on business and planned to meet up with our two friends Andy and Margaret for the weekend and some fishing. We arrived at Andy’s on Friday night in Auburn, AL and after a great dinner and a good nights sleep we headed for Georgia for some bluegill fishing.
I think Steve is liking fishing more and more each time we go out and he is getting better every time out. We all caught some great gills on Saturday with Steve catching his largest ever. Andy and I caught a few as well as these pictures show.

Saturday night we stopped at David’s Bar-B-Que and had one of the best meals of our trip. Green fried tomatoes and pickles, hush puppies, catfish and the best ribs on the planet. We were wipped by the time we got back to Auburn and slept well.
Sunday found us back at Callaway Gardens searching for more big gills and we found them again. We even caught a few decent bass.
This one was the largest.

Here are 4 of the many gills we caught that day. All these bull gills were released to fight again.

After a superb fish dinner prepared by our host Andy we again hit the pillow early as we were on a tight schedule until our planned meeting with Andy and Margaret to go red fishing for bull reds in the Mississippi Delta about 65 miles south of New Orleans. I am going to post a thread in warm water with pictures of some of the monsters we caught. I also made a picture post of some butterflies we saw in the butterfly house at Callaway Gardens. Super place.
