Report:

Fished the Joe at Berrien on Sunday night, and met some friends down in the run. Fish were hitting all over the place. Kings and steelies mostly, but the dam had 6 turbines and 2 flood gates goin'. By the time I figured out what everyone else was using the water had dropped 2 to 4 feet!!! What a bummer and then came the "3 Musketeers". Inside Joke. I didn't even touch a fish and went home empty handed.

Today I went down to Berrien around 4 in the afternoon and died when I reached the river bank. The water was so low that the run was only 10 feet across!!! That made the fishing poor and the water was so low that kings already on beds were beaching themselves. Luckily the computer systems at AEP that run the dam, turned on more turbines and even got the flood gates to open and let some water downstream. That made fishing excellent!!! In a period of a hour or so I hooked 6 steelies and 2-3 kings. I landed 3 steelies and all were fresh from the lake. One weighed about 14lb. Then before I left I noticed the water levels dropping again!!!

Practice catch and release or selective harvest to preserve their future,

PS: These babies did come home with me for my cook out this upcoming weekend!
I paid for my liscense so I am using the resource when I need to!!!

See ya on the river,
