a friend of mine picked up some over the weekend, but was out again on tuesday and got only 9. they were in east bay.

i live abouyt 5 miles nort5h of hubbard lake and i have never fished it because ive only heard bad stories about it, a guy i met ice fishing on the TB river told me that 'hubbard lake is a swear word' lol. but im trying to make something out of it this winter, i want to catch a few nice perch. ive been out 6 times and have only had 1 tip up go off, it had a blue on it. i was in 17 fow off churchill.... what am i doing wrong? what should i be doing? i figure ur the guy who would know

Hey Ed, What time was your "friend" out there? We fished it from before daylight until noon and didn't see anybody fishing in East Bay. It was foggy enough that we almost ran into that first shanty on the way out though.
I marked so many fish I couldn't believe it and they would not hit. Tried minnows, flys, wigglers, etc. They're there, they just weren't hitting. Sometimes I hate using my Velixar. At least then, there's always hope!
