Looks like I'm going to backseat with a guy from Greatlakesbass.com. Never been on the lake. Any advice would be helpful if you feel you want to contribute. PM's would be great if you want to do it that way.

Should I bring the senkos?? :D

Ive read husky jerks are great on that lake for smallmouth and I have heard of guys catching them on senkos but that was in the spring. MSSportsman did a breakdown of this lake with good spots I know I read it on the website Im sure if you search you could find it.

Ive always wanted to make a trip, #2 on my list after Fletchers

Well, looks like I'm making the trip. Just got off the phone with my partner and a lake with water averaging around 8 feet is right up my alley!

So how did the tournement turn out waterfoul?

I was out fishing from shore saturday morning in the rain and we caught a few nice ones tossing shallow cranks real early but nothing after 9am.
Went by the east launch and it looked like quite a few boats showed up.

thanks
Mike

We had 20 boats show up. My partner and I started out pretty slow... then we got 4 keepers in a couple hours... then couldn't get anything to go with them. Our fish went 8.5 lbs. Winners had a nice sack of smallies that went 16lbs even. Big fish was a skinny 20" largemouth that only went 4.3 lbs. One more 2 lb fish and I think we would have taken 4th place. Just couldn't get it done.

You wanna talk cold, windy, and rainy? Worst tournament I've ever fish as far as the weather is concerned. Had a good time anyway. Met some good people and learned a new lake.

I threw nearly everything I brought with me. Crank, spinnerbait, senko (one bite the whole day on it) jig, drop shot (got me a 16" smalliie on it), shakeyhead, beaver, but nothing seemed to work better than anything else.
