Very timely question! I was just looking at the ones on Ebay last night. I asked a couple people that bought them for their opinions. Two responses and both were very happy with their purchase. I am mainly interested in carrying bow with quiver and both indicated no problems, secure and safe. The only downside one indicated was that his particular pack had no side pockets or smaller zipper pockets.

I bought one a few years ago, its a Gander Mountain guide series. It has tons of pockets, and I'm very happy with it. Normally sells for 79 but i got it at the end of the season for 39 i believe. I don't often use it to carry my bow but there are times where it has come in very handy, such as when I forget my bow hoist, I can strap it securly to my back and climb safetly. The only reason I don't use it going to and from stand is because I usually hunt very thick cover and it would get snagged up.

I use one from sportsmansguide.com and it was only $25. It is waterproof, camo and came with a camelback. Can't beat it!

Last year, drug a deer 3/4 mile through a Cedar Swamp while carrying a 300 Win Mag. and my backpack. Needless to say, I wish I would have had it last year but, will this year for sure.

Thanks for all the input.

Good Luck to all,

CS,

I got the Cabela's Bow and Rifle Pack last year and it is great. I've used it both up at our place in MI as well as down here in TN. It is especially helpful down here if I am hiking a ways back into the backcountry as most land down here goes up or down, and doesn't really stay flat anywhere. It allows me to hike in and out, allowing me to keep both hands free (I use a headlamp at dawn/dusk), which is great when you are needing to climb up and down steep angles.

Best thing I have gotten in a while!

The Badlands pack is nice but, the compartment appears smaller than the one Cabela's carries and they are comparable in price. I am going to buy the Cabela's pack.

Thanks for the info.
