Tried fishing the Big Manistique Lake for walleyes on Friday with no luck...except to be blown off.
Headed to the north lake (or as the local's call it - Round Lake) on Saturday afternoon. We used our sonar and located a huge pod of perch on the far east end of the lake in about 15 - 24 feet of water. Caught a huge mess of them, about 1 in every 5 was a keeper over 9 inches, on minnows. A few of the big boys ran 12 inches.
Came back out on Sunday to nearly the same spot. Again used the sonar to locate the school and cleaned up on them again. No really big fish this time, a few pushed 10 inches. Brought home about 100 fish and gonna do a fish fry on Friday night!
