i believe the fall bite is on, i havnt went out yet...(stupid school ) but i have heard from many people that it is. lake st. clair has a large population of pike, however they could be anywhere, because of lake st. clair's generally low depth. also try shallow water with loud, shiny lures.

Kent, Cass and Orchard lakes all have good pike populations. Good average size. Caught 2 on Tuesday in the rain, 28 and 30" and really fat. They definatly have the feedbag on. Water temp was 58 so it should be good for a while yet.

Gawd I hope the fall feed is on. I have to put my 11 year old nephew on some fish this weekend up around Petosky. He's seen the fish pictures now the big bad uncle has to produce and the pressure is on.
I can always fall back on the perch, I have some theories I want to try out, but some size would be nice.:bloos::bloos:

What type of water will you find most of the pike this time of year? shallow?

If you can fish the lower Detroit river There are plenty right now. Lost some hooks to them perch fishing this fall. They are in after the perch right now. Been thinking of taking my larger rod and set up for them with a bobber the next time I am out. Too many weeds to cast.
