Sooooo....what's happening with the s.w. area? Is there not much going on, or is it that everyones too busy out there fishing for any reporting to be taking place? Was hoping to make it over to the 'Joe' from Berrien down a ways, and wondered if it would be worth the long drive..... any info would be appreciated. Thanks .... M
Thats not a long drive, from three rivers? Wish I lived so close. Then again I think if I had a choice I want to live in the north west corner of our fair state. Well heck, what am I thinking? If I had a choice I'd rather be in British Columbia or Alaska!! Now we're talking!
I hear the fishing is kind of tough in the river right now. Water is like way high. The fish are there though. I've always found I do better in the boat, then on the bank when the water is high. Give it a shot, what do you have to loose?

You're right, Erik, it's usually not such a long drive over --- however right now, the buggys kinda limping along. Probably going to have to pass on this weekend's trip because of it and hope we don't miss out on ALL the fun.
Thanks for your reply......... M
I hear yah! Looks like I wont make it out there this weekend either. The first sat I've had off since memorial day weekend and what do I get to do? Go to a stupid retirement picnic for someone I barely know, and then over to my mother in laws for dinner. Oh boy, I'm so excited I'm beside my self!

Wow....I just checked the solunar tables -- with it looking SO POSITIVE for today (if ya believe in that sort of thing), it seems like it would be such a waste to NOT go at all .... perhaps something closer to home is in order, though!!!
Erik: do you just go to 'big waters', or do you fish around home, too? I grew up in BC and have fished around Marshall/Albion some.. And are you strickly a flyfisherman? ... M
By big waters I assume you mean the big rivers? I dont get out on the great lakes very often. My favorite rivers are the Big Man, St Joe and the Ausable. But I have fished many others as well. I'm certainly not strickly a fly fisher. I own a few fly rods but I have yet to catch a steelhead on one of them. I have used flies with my spinning rods and been succesful. Just purchased a new St Croix legacy this past spring, but I haven't been able to quite save enough money for a good reel for it. Hopefully I'll have one in my greedy little fingers before the salmon runs. I'd like to get a harris solitude, as all my friends say thats the best one. So far the prices I've checked out on those run about 250.00$. Thats enough to pay for quite a few fishing trips know what I mean? In the mean time I'm trying to get ready for bow season too. I'm on a league that shoots every monday night.
I do fish around home sometimes, mostly with my kids and mostly for pan fish. There are a couple streams near me that have trout but they dont have good access. Bridge crossings and such, that gets a little boring. I like to trek on down the stream when they stop biting in the particular hole that I'm in, but I wont trespass! I cant stand people that do that! If I fish the creeks around here I usually do it on weekday evenings and just for a quick stop. So yah, if its a weekend and I can get permission, hah, I'll most likely be on the St joe! I can make it over there in an hour and a half and its usually good fishing! Works out great for a sunday trip.
Well better stop talking my kids are yelling at me they want to use the phone.
