Tired of painting that crappy finger jointed pine that comes on pre-hung exterior doors? I just finished rehanging my second exterior door with this stuff and it is great. It requires a bit of time and it helps to have a power mitre saw and router, but it is well worth it. Cost is around $75 a door (jamb kit and brick molding). It can be painted, but white works for me and I never have to paint it again. The 7" planking even works well for a threshold in the right circumstance. Just thought I would pass it along, I am very happy with the results.

OK, here is a link

It is available at Home Depot and Menards, Menards price is a bit better. Menards selection seemed a little bigger as well, but the Home Depot here is a smaller store. If you have an existing door jamb, you can use that as a template to mortise your hinges. I used a router, but the instructions say you can also do it the old fashioned way with hammer and sharp wood chisel. I fastened with premium deck screws, countersunk and filled with good caulk. I did not bother with the brick mold "kit", just bought the lengths I needed and mitred myself. You will also need some shim material for squaring up the jamb. Hope this helps, good luck.

Yup!.....it comes in all the stuff for garage doors too!...replaced a lot of that this summer and then used it all for the new pump shed door I replaced this year....probably outlast the grandkids!

I have done a couple doors with it. Love the stuff.
