lots of flash and vibration. Like a spinnerbait or rattle trap

I think if using live bait you can still get perch and pike, up here in east tawas the lake was dirty and the perch were still biting, not as good when it was cleared up.gl

i was thinking about live bait, because i know fish have a good sence of smell... however i didnt think about vibration. what about surface lures?

Its not too cold to use a buzz bait............but my vote would be a big ol flashy spinner bait. Dual chrome blades, lime green or bright orange body spinnerbait will always call in the slimers.............

Just don't be surprised if they follow it right to the boat before they hit it.....:yikes:

lol i wish i had a big spinner bait, i only got a small yellow and a medium dark red one... also, is it true that dark colors are best for muddy waters?

Depending on what fish your are going for (bass, pike, perch) Go with one of these in a size 4 - 6 for bass and pike and 0 - 2 jigged for perch (never tried fishing for perch with these things but they seem like they should work.) Bleeding silver Chartreuse/Silver Flake and Red/Silver Flake are my favorite colors.

White and black work well in the mud for me. Something with some sound would help, fish can detect it.

big Chartruse or firetiger spinnerbaits with large colorado blades will produce the most vibration. These blades move the most water. The lure will also move slower giving the fish time to find the bait.

so far, it seems that colors, flash, smell, and noise are domanant traits of mussy water lures... ok then
