I have a big fox coming in near my stand daily. He seems to be on same trail area as the racoons use. No bait out, just clover. Would he be after the coons or what? I don't hunt small game, just curious.

more than likely hes looking for field mice or other small critters.

Shoot him. Better yet, let me. They are in season from Oct. 15-March 1st for hunting. I wish I had a big fox hanging out by my treestand.

Forgot to mention, you need a fur bearer license to take him.

Trails are common travel routes for many species, and most of them take the path of least resistance. You're lucky to have the opportunity to see a fox. With trapping season open, it might not be around much longer. Good luck!

Let the fox be. He's probably found a good feeding area and is hunting. His scent won't alarm the deer in the least.
