Well its my favorite time of the year. The leaves are falling, the air is colder
and crisper. Football is starting to get interesting. The white stuff will be fallin and the Boyz from the D will be a Ballin'!!!

So what does the year look like? Im thinking that this might not be such a good year for my 'Stones.
I was thinking, or should i say waiting during the off year for the stones to make a move or two and nothing has happened!!! They signed C.Bill and thats important but i dont see that anything at this point has improved that much. And im a little worried about what might happen. I'll explain:

1) The Bigs up front are another year older. Im thinking Sheed and Dice here. Dice is a great 6th man who is best at comming off the bench. But those knees have another year on them and Flip may ask Dice to be a starter. I just dont know if Dice at this point can handle that load and be as effective as he's been.

2) Sheed. Man i love 'Sheed when his head is screwed on properly. But the trouble with Sheed is he's a Jeckyl and Hyde. Never know what sheed is gonna show up. When he's on his game and his heads right, he's hard for anyone to stop. When he wigs out and his head goes into la-la land he can turn into a mess. Off season press reports confirmed that he was at odds with Flip during last season.

3) Nazr. Sat on the bench last year. Guess that showed what his game is all about? I thought he was better when we brought him here.

4) Amir Johnson. Plenty of promise but really unproven in the NBA. Not playing right now due to a foot injury. He's losing valuable playing time right now.

5) Maxiell. Love the guy. High energy who leaves it all on the court when he's done. But not a front line starter, rather a key player off the bench.
Guys have said that he should be a starter but thats not his game. He dosent have a "shot" and is poor at FT's. If you can feed him under the basket all the time he'll get ya plenty of dunks. Also, good rebounder.

6) ????. Unsigned for this year? C.Webb has stated that he would like to return to the Stones. I dont know if that would be for the better or for the worse??? We need to develope Amir and Maxiell, they need playing time.
But i do see the need for one more big up front on the team. If they sign him i hope its under the terms that he's the #6 big and will play only a few minutes per game.

7) Rip and Chauncey. I expect the same we've seen from these two for the past few seasons. Couple of solid players who would start for any team
in the NBA. Chauncey hopefully learned alot from his poor performance in
last years playoffs.

8) Stuckey and Affalo(sp). The top draft picks need to be able to come in and provide solid minutes to rest rip and chauncey while learning the NBA game. I honestly havent seen either one play so i have to go with what the scouts and press reports about them. But if the Stones are to have a good year these two will have to come in and contribute.

9) Tay. I think we know what to expect and we know what he'll bring.
a solid, smart player. I would like to see him more involved in the "O".
But also think he needs more rest (less minutes) during the regular season to limit the pounding his body takes. The dude just dosent have the kind of body that can log tons of minutes during the regular season and still
be able to put it out on the floor during the playoffs.

10) Bench. Gotta get some quality minutes from the bench to limit the
wear on the starters.

11) Flip Saunders. I still dont know at this point if he's a average coach or a good coach or a poor coach. I think he's good at the "x"s and "o"s but
i dont see that he can controll his players (Sheed). He also was out coached during the playoffs by Chicago and Clevelands coaches. One thing that i would like to see. Develope the bench!!! Rest starters in order to be
in better shape for the playoffs.

Very well said....That said, I will give my summation of this team...We start with the coach...I said last year that this team will not win a championship with Flip as their coach. As good as this team is, they need discipline...

Billups: his team, he dictates how good this team will be...

Hamilton: stay within himself, dart off of screens like Reggie Miller, but does his damage inside 20 feet like Bernard King used to...

Rasheed: be more of an inside presence, unstoppable at the low post...I wish he realized that...

Prince: he disappears at times offensively, capable of close to 20 a game, let's see it...

Mohammed: you are overpayed, you are useless, you are a liability here...

Amir Johnson: Mohammed has your starting spot...go get it...

Maxiell: Energy the level of Dennis Rodman with more offensive prowess...

The new draftees: learn from the best and enjoy the opportunity to help out immediately if need be...

Jarvis Hayes: he's a shooter, is it legit or is it another Damon Jones???\

That said, they will go neck and neck with the Cavs for the #1 seed in the East. Their success will be dictated on how interested they are during the regular season...But with Flip as the coach, they may win 55, but they will never win a championship with Flip...

I like the look of the team this year, mainly cause of the improved, young, energetic bench.

I think Dyess at the 4 and Sheed at the 5 is the way to go...and was the way to go since Ben left. Having Maxiell and Amir there on the bench really has the potential to be maybe the deepest frontcourt in the league. The Backcourt is always among the best in the league, and they brought in some potential suitable backups with their draft and Hayes.

So, the key word with this season is POTENTIAL, with how many young, unproven players they have on the bench. I think all the young players will live up to their potential because of how veteran and savy the starters are.

56-26

NBA championship...........:yikes:

Stuckey's surgery on his non shooting hand will have him out 'til Xmas time...He was their planned back-up point guard...Now what??? 51-31, maybe 54-28...I have said and will maintain they will never win a championship with Flip Saunders as their coach and we'll be 2nd best in the East...I would say third best but Boston will not be as successful as thought with that ball hog Paul Pierce...That said:

Cleveland: 56-26
Detroit: 51-31
Boston: 49-33.........
