Hello Michigan Sportsmen...
Anyone have any experience buying or selling firearms with Cabelas in
Dundee. Good, bad, otherwise.....Thanks !!!:coolgleam

I bought a shotgun there back when they first opened, and later on a glock- Good experience overall, especially if you know what you want. It can get busy at times so go on a weekday and not during or before gun season if you can help it.

I also talked to a guy there about selling them- or trading in a Taurus 9mm. He said that he couldn't give me much because they had a couple in back and it was not a high demand gun. Seems to boil down to supply and demand at any given time...

I was there about a month back and every gun I looked at on the re-sale rack was covered in light surface rust! I was shocked that they weren't taking better care of these used guns they were trying to sell at near full price! Maybe that's why they had nearly 8 racks full!

I ran into a guy I knew who was working there and asked him about it and he told me they had been having that problem for a while due to the humidity inside from the waterfall and also having to maintain a certain humidity level for all the mounts.

I don't know about you but if I'm going to pay near full price for a used gun I don't want it covered in rust.

I got screwed by the one in Dundee. Not sure if it was actually by a guy at the Gun Library or just a gun counter worker. I set up for a gun to be transfered from a Cabelas in Wisconsin to Dundee and I am 99.99% sure the guy in Dundee I was dealing with bought it himself and told me "there was a mix up and someone else bought it".

However, I would buy through them again if a deal presented itself. I have found they have some nice guns and prices are fairly competative.
