View Full Version : 3rd Annual M-S Squirrel Hunt

-The last Saturday of October. Which is the 27th this year. Meet at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast at Grandma's Kitchen restaurant in the Interlochen Plaza shopping center on the southwest corner of the intersection of US-31 & M-137 in Interlochen, Mi.
-The focus in on giving kids a chance to squirrel hunt.
-We'll head out and start hunting sometime after 9:00 a.m.
-Whit1 & Danno9, you guys in on it again this year?
-If the weather cooperates perhaps we'll have a bonfire Saturday evening in my backyard.
-Anyone wanting info. on accomodations PM me.
-Several members of the Michigan Squirrel Dog Association will be spending the weekend at my house. So I am out of room.

I've missed this in past years and would really like to get out with you again. But on the 27th, the paper has me lined up for all sorts of Halloween stuff...the Saturday before, and all. Haunted woods, festivals, fly-ins for kids, all kinds of stuff.

If anything happens and I can get out of it, you'll hear from me.

Linda-The Michigan Squirrel Dog Association (M.S.D.A.) is holding a club buddy hunt this Saturday the 20th in the Glennie area. Perhaps you can make it over there.

I've got to check the calandar, but that date rings a bell for some reason. Will we need to bring underwater breathing gear like last year?........:lol:

Well, I just got word that we are working that Saturday Jeff. For some reason they don't know yet if we are working this comming Saturday.

I sure hope not. Seems every time you & George come over the weather is terrible.

The weather was crummy on Saturday with wind & rain/drizzle. Had 5 people show up with 4 dogs. We treed a few. Shot one out. Jon W. stayed and hunted Sunday with me. It was clear, calm, & cool. We limited-out in 3 hours. Even with the dogs treeing probably 2 dozen nests. We had a tree every 5 or 10 minutes.

My Saturdays have been tied up lately and this weekend is no exception. We'll get out sometime after deer season.
