Hit the lake with Oldgrandman it his boat last night for some walleye. Right away Mark latches into a HOG he managed on a deep firetiger rap. Thought it was a snagged salmon for a long time until he wrestled it close enough to see and grab with the net. The biggest errr... walleye either of us has ever seen! Nice job man, right in the chops too.

Cold last night, most of the fish are on the bottom 18+ fow for now. No other action or activity in shallow yet for us though. Thanks for the trip Mark, let's do it again some time soon. Enjoy.

Yeah, for a minute I thought I had the state record walleye on, LOL! Then a snagged salmon or flathead. NOPE!
Tim, we'll get out again I am sure. Turns out I shoulda kept that 'fish' though. Ran into Terry from Brenners today at NAPA and he said he wants a big one for the shop. And an atlantic and even a dogfish if anyone wants to donate one.
LATER!

I hooked one of them whistle mouth Walleye about that size one night right square in the tail. We had to follow her around for 10-15 minutes before coming to the top.
Nice Catch.
The Big Eyes should start trickling in to Muskegon by the end of the month.

Mark,
That's a nice golden 'eye that you have there. The next time you see Dann09/George in here ask him about the "slab" he managed to pull from Muskegon Lake while trolling with Tim, SFW/Robert, and I last January. It was a trophy worthy of mounting on the wall if he hadn't put it back into the lake............

Oh Yes, I see it's time to bring up stories of fishing on the beach in Frankfort for steelhead and My friend Whit hooks into hog of a fish. Kind of looks like the one in the pic at the begining of this thread. I guess some of the things learned on the Grand River never really go away.

Almost had me changing my plans for the weekend:p I've been back and forth on fishing/hunting. Still think the fishing might be the winner, but perch'in is where I'm leaning. Did get out tonight for a short sit, saw a 3pt and two does...here' perchy!

Hahah! No, Muskegon Mary, as Tim named it, is alive and probably eating about 5 pounds of fish-n-stuff a week!
My neighbor who grew up in the depression said that you'd be suprised how it tastes. If you didn't know what it was you'd think it was good.
I never tried it myself, but in 1932 I might have, LOL!

Damn...you got that and a nice sheephead a few weeks ago as well. All I can seem to catch out of there is salmon. Nice fish! :)
