I hunted 4 or 5 days during the early goose season and only managed 1 bird.

The zone 2 opener found me up north on a very ducky looking marsh. Saturday the fog ruined the hunt as we couldnt see squat. Sunday was better weather wise but we just didn't see many birds at all. My partners opened up on one that got inside the 80 yard line (and missed) but that was it.

The zone 3 opener found me at Crow Island. I was the first guy in and had my pick of locations. I chose poorly. Other guys were knocking down the birds but they just weren't using my airspace. I ended up with 1 Greenwing for the day.

Last night I went hunting in a bean field with Huntsman27. Looked good. We knew geese were in the area. All we saw was a group of high fliers that moved through. Maybe if we had a howitzer & flack rounds.........

Work has kept me from hunting but after today I am off for 5 days. I intend to try and bust a few birds. My luck has to change.

You know it will get better. Stay after 'em and you'll get into a bunch. There is always one stretch a year like that for me, where you seem to put in all the work, but the payoff just isn't there. you're just getting yours out of the way early.:)

Woodchuck... Where were you hunting for zone 2 because i had the same situation... nice looking marsh, but TERRIBLE fog and when the sun cut the fog, most of the flying was done anyways.
