NOT!!!!!!
Dad invited me to go hunting last night about 915 "get your stuff ready we leave at 3am tomorrow"
so we drove about 2 hours north (spot undisclosed)
motored in the area but had problems so we walked the boat,
not enough water in the area so we set out in the open.
Me and Grampa in the boat Dad standing next to it, we were poorly camoflauged but wow what a day...
Early on Grampa tells me "this aint the youth hunt no more we dont have to wait for you to miss"
Quick response of "bulls$^#! i dont miss"
Lets just say 15 minutes into shooting time Duckdude had a beautiful greenhead in the boat with one shot and Duckmaster sitting there shaking his head
Later while i left to answer the call of nature Dad downed a immature greenhead, and then on the way back to the boat a lone suicide goose made several circles and came into the decoys only to be met by a 3" #2 from Grampa
Later on a pair of mallards made a swing and dad downed the hen, i tried to make the wackiest backwards shot but my head was off the gun and i missed and ended up being knocked over backwards and grampa had a good laugh
just when dad was about to call it quits around 1115, 5 geese came swooping in, with some encouragement they passed my side decoying at about 35 yards and with my second shot dropped one and missed the third shot going away
...Grampa misse a suicide goose in his face at 35 yards and never heard the end of it from me
had a lot of groups flare because we couldnt get to our spot, oh well
Motor crapped out and we walked the boat in
Probably the best school day hunt ive ever had, thanks for taking me dad it was a blast, now i get to tell the guys at school about it .
Another awesome day in the marsh even if we didnt see that many birds
I live for that time spent with family. Nothing better. :coolgleam
