Great Post Shoveler, I can't believe it hasn't gotten more attention. I'm no Bioligist, but from what I read, the Mallard breeding peaked at it's highest level since 1955 a couple years ago. Now that we are in a slight decline we still should have good to great numbers of mallards for our up coming seasons. It looked like Gadwals took a bigger loss then most others but over all, I would say with the drought conditions which is a natural occurance that we should fare just fine.

Thanks, I thought it was some good information and should be shared. I agree the season should be fine but I do have setting in the back of my mind a 45day/4bird limit. Wasn't there a big concern a couple of years back about the Scaup population??? They declined by 5% so I wonder if and what measures were taken to help them out. Pintails look to have had a hard go of it, down by 46%.
