Tried for sturgeon..settled for muskie.

:) Had some good advice from Sturge and tried a few spots on Thursday. I didn't fish late into the night , just up to sunset. Several nibbles on worms and cut baits but no takers.Spent a few hours at it early this morning and still no fish. So as the day heated up we loaded the boat and hit Lake St Clair. The muskies were a bit more co-operative and we each boated one.

I love to see the pics of anglers releasing the fish. It shows that they actually care about the well being of the animal. Well done. BTW the sturge were jumping like crazy on the US side. Just to taunt me I am sure. I settled for perch instead. Not quite the same fight, but better eatin'.

Wow, those are some nice fish. What did you use up there to catch them? Did you get them on the cut bait and worms or did you break out something else?

You should be getting those perchies right off that dock if you have some good weedbeds there and can fish that weededge properly...Water temp is gonna head downhill soon and they will head canal bound out of the current, like some of their counterparts have already...;)

Worms and cut bait was used to try and get sturgeon. I used woodies to catch the muskies.
