When we were coming back in last night there was a sailboat going down the black river without any lights on and at a high rate of speed for a no wake zone. My first though was that someone was stealing it.:16suspect But next they pull a u-turn :dizzy: in the river. now picture this a 24ft sailboat making a u-turn in the black river. not a lot of room for that. then they sound their horn and go under the bridge going upstream. this is the last bridge before the dnr launch. I have my boat at the dock by now and they come right up in front of the docks. They attempt another u-turn and run into a large pole that is protecting a white boat house directly across form the launch. now the boat bounces off the pole and without the motor ever changing gear or rpm it continues into the boat house and gets stuck underneath it. one guy comes out onto the bow and pushes the boat down so that they can get unstuck. Freed they head back down stream and sound their horn to get back under the bridge. the bridge never opened, but the keel on sailboats is very deep and they got to close to the shore and ran it aground. they are trying to get it unstuck when the police show up. The "Captain" of the boat has the outboard screaming trying to get it unstuck. and the cop is yelling at him. "Turn it off dumb a**" then a female cop tells them to stay right where they are. next 3 coast guardsmen show up in a minivan. they go down to take a look at the situation. now none of the coasties are going to get wet and neither are the cops. so I guess that they were waiting for a coast guard boat to come down. the coasties said that the two guys on the boat were friends of the owner, and that the owner was on his way down! who would think about taking out there buddy's sailboat and crashing into crap with it? I wonder if they are still friends?
