Can anyone tell me where these creeks are? On the DNR's website the creeks are listed as being stocked with trout. Check out the DNR's new fish stocking interactive search engine. It's cool. http://www.dnr.state.mi.us and follow the fishing links and fish stocking database.
I just wish they would put the 2000 stocking results in the database.

The are up northeast of the Paint Creek area. I'm moving this topic to SouthEast Streams.

Kroppe:
Kearsley Creek is near Ortonville. I know you cross over it heading west on I-69 going towards Flint. From what I have read there is really no public access points and most is on private property. I think Thread Creek is probably somewhere near there. If I am wrong about the access someone please let me know. I usually fish Paint Creek (the one in Oakland County near Rochester) and would be interested in other alternatives in the area.

Both Kearsley and Thread Creeks are in Genesee County, Kearsley being east of Flint, and Thread is south of Flint, and both flow into the flint River in Flint.

Thanks guys. Huggler in his book _Fish Michigan: 50 Rivers_ he has both creeks listed as tribs of the Flint. He says access is attainable at Henderson and Kipp Roads in Genessee County for Kearsley Creek, and Groveland Road in Oakland County for Thread Creek. He says "both tributaries have supported a brown trout fishery for many years". Should be interesting. I'm surprised nothing has been discussed about these creeks on this board.

I have fished Kearsley creek in the Davison area. Its been a few years but last time I fished it I did catch quite a few browns and rainbows both. The depth only averages about 2 feet so it is very easy to wade if you plan on fishing. I was fortunate evough to have permission to cross private property to get to the river. I am not aware of any official public access but I'm sure you can access at any road crossing.
