What's the best lubricant to put on meat grinder cutter plates and knives so they don't rust during storage.

Roger 23; I've used vegetable oil but it seems to gum up and harden over time. Maybe I don't use the grinder often enough.

I use food grade silicone lubricant. Just a little spray on all parts of the grinder will keep it in great shape.

I use PAM cooking spray. Has canola oil to coat the metal and the meat dont stick to it. Makes clean up a bit easier.

Spray or regular vegetable oil. If they are gummed up during storage, just wash them with hot soapy water before using them next time.

LEM makes a food grade silicone that works great. It also helps keep meat from sticking to the grinder head. After you wash everything, spray all the parts with it and theyll stay rust free...Works for me.
