Fried Fillets

Went out this morning drifting for walleyes in 17 ft. of water, 18.5 ft. of water and 19 ft. of water. Made the same passes, getting deeper each time, from the 400 club down to the St. Clair light. Had an excellent drift wind early this morning and did not hit one walleye. Tried several different color harnesses too. The walleye action is nothing like it was last year.........so far. I ended up with about 12 nice perch instead.................Steve.

Around this time last year we started fishing around B and C-bouys. Will be out there Tuesday morning. But your right, Metro walleyes never materialized this year as in the past. Why? Where did they go? Must have all gone south to Lake Erie.

Yes, you guys are right! Walleye counts are way down this year from everyone I talk to. We managed 4 today but worked very hard for them (Canadian side of the channel by the light). I know everything is behind but times are tough. I think Walleye Mike is right, the fishfly hatch was not that good on LSC and I heard it was good on Erie. I think those buggers went South but we'll keep trying.

The south end of Lake St Clair has been great for me this year. Last Saturday my partner and I picked up eleven trolling harnesses(lemon-lime) with bottom bouncers. Picked up twelve last Sunday in the same spot.

Picked up 2 handlining with spoons near the Belle Isle bridge yesterday morning and didn't bother trying the lake .

Partner and I picked up twelve this morning. Four by the Belle Isle bridge handlining z plugs from 5:00-6:30 a.m. Then shot into the lake and picked up eight from 7:00-10:00 a.m. on harnesses and bottom bouncers.

We were fishing just on the Canadian side of the shipping channel but still on American water just north of the green cement range light.

If anybody wants coordinates, I'll be happy to post them.
