Ok, after reading the artificial light rules, I guess I have a couple of questions.

1) If it's not mounted on your firearm, is a one million candle power light considered a flood light? even with a red lens?

2) according to the rules you cannot shine between 11pm and 6am is this true for nighttime predator hunters? if your light is not attached to your weapon? do you have to stop hunting with artificial light at 11pm?

Critter you can use the light as long as it's not attached to your car. The candle power has nothing to do with the use. The light can be attached to the gun for shooting. Use a second smaller light for picking up the eyes. Either light can only be on during the calling period not the walking in part as that may be considered shining. If a light is needed to walk the a low light cast on the ground is ok. If the beam shines the woods of field that is considered shining while walking.

Your hunting not shining so you can hunt all night during the open season.

Thanks, got it....Man the way it's written, it just seems that they don't want you out there after 11pm with a light.

They just don't want the shiners or poachers running around. Still be careful, just because your "fox" hunting don't be broadcasting a light while not in the actual scheme of the hunt, and leave the coon alone! They are not open at night to callers only houndsman.
