Sorry for the late report. Thought my son (fish fanatic jr.) posted a report when we got home Saturday.
Took my die hard son (broke his ankle playing football Thursday night) who still wanted to fish and his buddy out. Launched out of Crocker and fished between the 400 club and Metro beach. Started south of metro in 8 fow and picked up 20 or so keepers. Moved south to the outskirts of the boats (near the 400 club), didn't get anything in 15 minutes. Went back to our original spot, but there were a couple of boats there now. So we moved out to 12.5 fow. Had steady action for a few hours. Others noticed as well. We started getting crowded.
Ended up with 62, kept three 8.5"er's, that swallowed the hook, other wise we were throwing anything less than 9" back.
3 over 12", 13.25" being the biggest.
20 over 11". Most of the rest were 10's".
We would have easily got our 3 man limits if we kept all the 8's we were catching. Only had a few dinks.
Spreader rigs took all but 6 fish, slip bobber took those other 6, with them being some of the bigger fish. Slip bobber also took the 15" smallie I caught (and released). Minnow size didn't seem to matter. We just happened upon a nice size school of fish. Pics should be up tomorrow of the bigger fish.
Thanks Harry!
