18.3 lbs - 37" off the sidewalk..................
(many hooks get caught in the fish when they get in the river, I did catch the fish legally in the mouth)

Tonight 10-03-07 was another evening with a limit of fish.

This time I had an extra special treat, below is a little boy after he landed his first salmon. With Mom holding up the fish, due to it being larger than himself!

Even when the fish are running strong, I always try to involve as many kids as possible, to keep them coming back!

where about in petosky are you fishing??? ive never been up there but it looks like it could be worth the 4 hour trip to catch some nice fish.

Petoskey is a short fishery - maybe 100 yards long, :lol:
It is at the mouth of the Bear River, where it dumps into the bay. There is a dam which very few fish can leap, within 100 yards of the mouth.

Do they catch them into November off the pier up there?
Ill be up that way opening of gun and i was hoping to get some fishing in as well. Im trying to descide on petosky or Cheboygan.

About seven years ago I fished the night before Thanksgiving. I was targeting any fall steelies that might be coming in. I did manage to catch one steelie and one king, but man, that king was reeeeally dark.

What with warmer water temps this year and things running late, there certainly is a chance for a few kings to be hanging around in there during deer season. I wouldn't promise the guys at deer camp a meal of fresh salmon however. :lol:
