Looks like someones putting the finishing touches on a new bait and tackle store in New Haven. Right on Main Street just before the Self Storage place.
Name on the sign says Froggs Bait and Tackle and hours starting at 5am.
I'll keep you posted when i see it open.

Opening a bait and tackle store in the fall.........It will last about as long as the "Hair Products" store did at the same location.

:lol::lol:

But I do think there will be some rich folks this winter that are opening the liquor store next to Blue Water Bait. They at least tried to class it up making it seem like it is a fine wine store.

That building has been about 100 things in the past 10 years. Maybe this is the right one?!

I've seen that guy driving a clapped out old green Ford pick up.... He changed the lettering on the tailgate from Ford to Frogg. Always has a ton of steel and other crap in the back of it.... maybe a scrap hound. I don't think a bait shop will do very well at all in downtown New Haven.... just a thought.

I grew up a mile north of New Haven, lived in the area for 20 years. Only thing I can think of is, WHY? :yikes:
Guess I'll have to go visit the folks this weekend and check it out.

Just curious as to whom they think their main customer base will be. Seems out of the way for Lake St. Clair or the River. Maybe Lake Angela in Richmond :fish:Well best of luck to them in the future. Rick

The place next to Blue Water opened earlier this week. Just an over priced meat market that this community isn't ready for. We are making bets on when he goes under.

Do they have beer? If they do I think it will busy this winter.

Hate to be negative, but this guy would have a better chance of selling ice cubes to eskimos than he has with a b&t in New Haven.

It is out of the way, but I drive through new haven quite a bit on the way out to the lake or NC..

Sure it wont last, but ill throw some coin his way.

Just wanted to report that it looks like the placed has closed-up. Didn't even make it a year.

Anything beside bass and bluegill on Lake Angela? My mother-in-law lives there.

Haven't been thru town all summer. Stopped in once and really didn't have a whole lot to choose from, so It's not surprising.
That stores been a dozen different things it seems over just the past few years.

The store was probably a hobby for the guy. Probably got discounts for himself, on top of trying to make a go of it. Think about it, why else would you open a tackle shop in downtown New Haven.

Well he's still there. His prices are high but his meats are of the finest quality.
I save up and treat myself to a nice Delmonico once in a while. Nice marbling!
