Thursday night pulling wire PH

launched at dusk from black river, we boated 5, lost 3 at boat and had something big snap pete's leader (20lbs test) on the way up, not sure if bass or salmon. buddy was out in his boat, they got 9. colors were #7 vampire, brown trout, and firetiger. depths from 10 up to 40 fow. ours came between green can and american shore, past bridge, other boat was in about the same area mostly. night got cut short when another boat past us with one guy handlining and rider was long lining a rapala with a sinker, rapala grabed my line then petes, then into prop. limp to american side beach, jump out (knee deep water) and removed prop, cotter pin screwed up, band aid on it, and limp to launch. good news is i got to fish with pete (ppasie) and now i have another fishing buddy. was gonna head to lite bright spot, but the line in the prop throw a wrench into that idea . i like to think i converted another to the dark side, but it may take another trip or 2. :lol:

Tim, 5 fish are better than 0 that's for darn sure. Congrats on them and good report.

So was the bite any better, they seemed kinda light last week. I want to try to get back out this weekend

had high hopes for that night being after the cold front and all, we got a few in between those hills, than started to sprinkle and they shut off, well over an hour before we both poped one at the same time in 10 - 15 fow. next 2 nights should be better depending on the wind.

Really ticked at myself for not going out Thursday nite.and reading that great post by Timeye added to my tick. So I went out Friday. The wind was dead calm at my house, got out on the lake and to bumpy for me because a north wind showed up. (now i'm ticked again). Went in the river to my hot spot,(got to cross that spot off my list), fished for 2 hours and caught one fish. Talked to a whipper who said he got skunked. So I think i'm done pulling wire till next year. That ought to get them going.
