Need help with making a few Basics

I need help making a fleshing beam, I have a nice section of 2x12 to work with. Next I need help making stretchers I have a friend that can get me some basswood and poplar I just need patterns. Next thing is I cannot find the old article that we had on here for making frost free dirt or waxed dirt, can anyone help I need to shrink my expenditures this year to be able to afford gas just to get out times being as they are so any help is much appreciated. the 2x12 to me is a little big. a 2x8 should work for you. just round it off in the shape of you fleshing knife and bring it to a point at the top.

Thanks Wild bill I also have an dried out oak log about 4 inches in diameter I though I might try shaping down, any opinions about using oak?
