No you do not have to give out any secrets just nice to hear where others are hunting.
I hunt mainly the Ottawa marsh and lately Martiny lakes. This year thinking about trying out the Muskegon river and Manistee river areas and also on the east side of the state Waterloo rec area. Have any of you hunted at these sites and any tips would be great.
Shooting times a comin.

Where do you find an area on Martiny Lakes that isnt ten hunters for one duck. On opening day you can smell the gun powder in the air!:D :D

Where did I hunt? No longer matters...:D
Since our crew will benefit from the addition of two new layouts and a new 20' tender, we are gonna be hunting where the ducks are.

Bought the swamp I hunt in. Have several hunting blinds on public access lakes but have to get there early. Have a deer camp just a few minutes from Fletchers in the north country. The islands in Lake Erie remain my favorite. Seems like less waterfowl hunters to compete with every year where I go. More goose hunters, less duck hunters.
Eastern U.P. Here, lots of geese, just need the FEDS to get off our nuts so we can shoot some filght birds again

michigander, I told you to keep it a secret. It's just a little old swamp that holds a few birds.

My main hunting base is Lake Michigan, Muskegon Lake, and the Muskegon river. These are heavily hunted areas with lots of pressure. Usually a couple of times a year I try to make it somewhere where I have hunted or hunted very little.
Almost time to break out those clay targets and get some practice in. Lord knows I need it!!

Ive been hunting the saginaw bay area for about 13 years. Tons of mallards and a lot of divers. Although there is a lot of pressure especially now at fish point.

Yoda-----If we are going to get to hunt flight geese we need the support of our own DNR. They just take what they are offered and don't stick up for the sportsman of Michigan as far as flight geese are concerneded. The only geese that they are worried about are the locals and zones 1 and 2 don't count as we can't hunt a late season on them.-------Now as far as where I hunt. I have two beaver ponds that I hunt. The one has an unbeleivable number of woodies and mallards on it over night. If there is a good cloud cover they will say until shooting hours but a lot of times they are gone before shooting and my lab gives me a funny look when I don't shoot when they are leaving. I also have a creek that I have hunted off and on for 40 years. Since the water levels have gone down the hunting has also dropped off. This is all on the west side of the lower.

I hunt a small lake in southwest Washtenaw county. Hey MI88 do you hunt public land? I live just northwest of Adrian and spots are hard to come by as far as state land goes.

I have hunted saginaw bay for the last 18 years. Have not missed the opener and will not miss it as long as im able to hunt. Hoping the water table continues to come up and give the many guys and gals out there a much easier trip in and out of the swamp. I have only hunted the west shore but some day i will make my way to the other side. It wont be long now and it will be time to put a hurting on the geese. I do enjoy some local hunts on the small lakes in our area. Let's face it we sportsmen and women here in michigan have it pretty good.

Until last year, mostly right around here in Antrim, Kalkaska, and Grand Traverse County, although I do get up to Charlevoix and over near Alpena for goose on occasion. Last year, hooked up with another guy who is an avid duck hunter and got down to Lake St. Clair twice. Hunted the late goose season near Flint one year in way too much snow, and tried to hunt the late season again one time down near St. Joe, we got snowed out. My son is an avid duck hunter as well and since his move to Ohio we've hunted there quite a bit. In previous years I've hunted Kansas, Iowa and Utah for waterfowl.
We've got it pretty good, but not like some states like Ohio and Kansas have it...or Utah for that matter, you oughta see what comes through to the Great Salt Lake Valley...or try hunting either near the Quivera Wildlife Refuge or in Cheyenne Bottoms some time in Kansas.
My son is yapping about the Delmarva Peninsula this year, if he does, I'm going too, even if I go as luggage...<grin>
