Hey guys- my buddy just got a place on Six mile lake- we can get to Ellsworth and st clair lake pretty easy. Anyway fish these lakes and can shed some light on baits that are good this time of year in those lakes.
Heading up this weekend for a little fishing trip with some buddies.

It's a great chain to fish. depts average around 25. banks drop off cast. Basicly liek fishing a river with little current. You'll find weedlines adjacent to the drop offs. I was out there a few weeks ago using spinnerbaits, small jigs, and topwaters. Also used a few sofr jerk baits right alongvthe drops. Didn't do bad fish wize. Good number of hits and a few over the limit. The water temps have jumped back up a bit due to the warm weather. They shoul dbe around 66 to 70. The farther down the chain towards Bellaire ya go the better the fishing can get. Might be out there myself this weekned . It's supposed to be a tad windy and it is a good chain to hide on.

Thanks for the hints. My buddies place is right near the mouth of the river connecting to St Clair lake and then onto Ellsworth...
Any colors that seem hot... the water seems really clear.... I figured the weedlines and drop offs would be the best.
Took a cruise up the river toward St Clair and there was a bunch of bass smallies and LM in the river. You could see them suspended in the weeds and structure.
Thanks again.

Well- thanks for the tips. We did pretty good- catching a lot of fish and lots of different species.
We caught Smallies (one pretty big fish that was about 23-24 inches long), largemouth (one that was 4.5lbs), one musky 36 inches long, and a BUNCH of pike in the 20-29 inch range. We also caught one walleye, some perch, crappie and some panfish.
Great weekend for fishing too!!!
Good luck.
