I need a new bow. Mine died at the last minute :(
Any ideas for a good bow in the $500 and under price range? I have all the accessories, but need something before the season starts!
Ugh!
Thanks for any ideas in advance! I'd PREFER it be a parallel limb bow if at all possible! Thanks!
PS - So far, I'm looking at a $400 PSE Brute.

I have a Parker Force Multiplier II I'll sell ya for $250.00. Right Hand, 70# draw...it worked phenominally for me for the past two years...just invested in a Drenalin this summer.
This bow shoots as fast at 60# that most bows do at 70. PM me if you want to see pics or shoot it!

Bowtech Tomcat fits in your price range, and is one hell of a bow!
Another one that impressed me last weekend was the Mossy Oak by PSE. It is about $600, but it was a very nice shooting bow. I think I would preffer it over the Brute myself.

I would look at the Truth from Bear Arch. before you make you're final decision. It's a great bow for $549.99.

I just picked up a Kodiak Bow Logic 32 for $499. It's a sweet bow and excellent value for the money.

I too am looking to buy a bow in the NEAR future! I have all weekend to practice for Monday LOL KIDDING, just kidding....about the Monday part. I would like to buy a bow to start shooting at targets now in order to be ready for NEXT October. Are there sales going on now or do they pick up once the season starts?

Stop at some of the smaller archery shops. They may have an older model bow in stock that they would let go for a lower price. I bought an Extreme VFT by Bowtech. Found a 2003 model in 2005 and got it for under $500. Not the latest and greatest, but a far upgrade from my old Jennings, and worth every penny.

I would recommend a Reflex. I bought one two years ago and it has been an awesome bow. They are made by Hoyt and they are really a high quality bow for a lot less than other bows out there.

To Ebay.. You can get a good mathews, hoyt or bowtech for that price... It wont be brand new but you can get a good one.. I will vouch for SRconnell22's bow shooting faster at 60lbs than my bow at 72lbs.. It is a nice bow for the money..

I highly recommend the Instinct by Bear. It received many accolades last year and placed third in very well executed bow test done by another hunting site. It was behind the Mathews and Bowtech models an finished ahead of the Hoyt model (not trying to bash any brands, just showing that it is up there with the big players in the industry).
I needed a bow last year and after doing research I decided to go with the Instinct. I was out the door ready to shoot with the bow, 1/2 dozen arrows, stabilizer and a Ripcord rest for right around 550.00 (re-used my old sight). If you look on line you can usually find them for under the MSRP of 399.00 too.
It is hard to argue with getting a great bow at half the price of the competition. The bow has been flawless for me so far and I haven't had the least bit of trouble with it. I did get a lot of "ohh, that's an Instinct. I heard that is a good bow, lemme take a look at that" at my uncles 3-D shoot a few weeks ago though.
