Yeah, pretty funny! I read the iggles thread and thought, man, these Lions fans are very optimisitc. Lets see, they beat the Raiders.....it was the Raiders after all. Then they squeek by the vikings (a not that good vikings) in a game where both teams looked very sloppy. And people thought they were going to beat ....beat handily in some cases, the Eagles? Some of you are drinking the same water Kitna is apparantly!
I don't think the Eagles are that good, but you knew coming into this game they wanted and needed to make a statement. So far they seem to be doing just that.

Hey, maybe they'll make a game of it! Nice job Kitna/Williams!
RichP

yeah, Kitna is making some great throws, it's unfortunate the Lions defense can't help him out...

Well it's now half time, and the Lions still could make a game out of it if they can find a way to slow down westbrook/mcnabb. The defense looks like a giant slice of pinconning cheese! Anyone on the defense gonna play today?

Well all the questions about the secondary before the season seem to be founded, they suck. Is George Foster trying to set an NFL record for the most times an offesnsive lineman false starts, he has had 2 or 3 every game so far.

Well it's 56-21 Philly now....
Anyone wanna bet that they score at least 63?

What a whooping! I just like the fact that we have something to build on. We are not there by a long shot but at least we have something. More than I can say for the past several years. :)

In the sea of giddiness after last weeks win against Minnesota vaulting the Mighty Lions to 2-0, here were my comments:
" If they play every week the way they played Sunday they will go 4-12"
The Lions are very good at making me right.
Glad I took Philly laying the 5-1/2. I figured the Lions were due to remember they were the Lions, and it paid off.

I hit the Philly game as well with the 5.5. Looks like the fog has cleared and the Losers showed up.

they probably would have if they wanted to. Philly's offensive coordinator sure looked like he knew what he was doing today. What was his name again? ;)

The Eagles have been one of the top three teams in the NFC for a few years running. For the Lions to go on the road and win this game would be virtually impossible since their road record is horrible. The Eagles are still a pretty good team when they want to be.
IF the Lions can split the next four games and go 2-2 they are a good team as all the teams they play are going to be pretty tough games.
IF they go 0-4 they are still the Lions.

His name is irrelevant....he will always be remembered as that jackass who took the wind in overtime!

I honestly thought they were gonna lay 100 on 'em.
On the bright side,, they did find a new way to lose. Haven't seen one like that in a while.

i can't really bash the lions..... they just couldn't stop the eagles off. 5 td's on 5 drives is pretty hard to do even if your the best team, sure they played the lions but still. now, they know what they have to fix for the next game and improve more. i know they lost but i see that the pass was picking away the eagles def. one by one and sure the run couldn't work, but hey sure it was a blow out but just be happy they had 21 and not lower. if the lions can play better on the road they could be a team to beat.

Even though it would have been nice; Who really expected them to win anyway? Next week against Chicago I have down as a loss, but I have them winning at Washington the following week.

It was obvious in the 1st two possesions who wanted that game more. Yeesh, list the top five things the Lions needed for a win, and they did none of them.
1)Contain Westbrook
2)Pressure McNabb
3)Protect Kitna
4)Protect the ball
5)limit penalties (4 on Foster alone!)
Good news is that Chicago lost. Anyone but the Bears for the NFC North champion, they have the most annoying fans ...EVER.

As I said in a previous thread, when the Lions come to town struggling teams find a way to get well real quick. What a freakin' embarrassment and yes, the same 'ol Lions are back. Oh well, it was kinda fun those first two games to actually think, "what if this is a different team?" Now that it's back to business as usual, I won't have to worry about getting my hopes up the rest of the season!
WOW. I didnt see the game, but heard the recap on TV. Sounds like the loins have returned!!! The beloved loins of old.
Trouble with this loss is that it will be the blue print for all comming games vs the loins!!! Now other teams can see how to light up the piss poor defence!!! I was calling the loins D the Swiss Cheese D. Now im thinking of calling them the "Zippo" D. As in Zippo, the lighter that always lights up!!!
Really the Eagles were not that good of a team. The loins were beat by a Gimpy QB and a bunch of no name WR's. I had the loins picked to win that game. Not Because the loins were good, but rather cause the eagles were bad.
So bring on a Bears team that just lost to the Cowboys and i think you'll see another old fashoned ax whuppin. The bears are gonna be looking to get back healthy next week and who better to get healthy against then the same 'ol loins!!!

The Bears are bad,,,,,,,,, and who told Grossman he was an NFL QB? He's another Harrington. Not sure if anyone noticed,,, but in the Eagles game,, Philly only sent out 2 WR almost the whole time,,. Think about how bad Detroits secondary really is. The loins actually have a decent shot at winning this game against the Bears.
Wow,,, I was just listening to 1270AM,,,,, dang,, I thought I was bad. Terry Foster just about had a heartattack,,,,, ripping the loins and Marinelli

All of you who took Philly last week might as well double your money I am sure the Bears are going to kill the same old Lions. (not)

Hey Billy B. I listen to 1270 also. I just love Mike Valenties Rants on the loins. That dude really rips on them.

Its the same old Lions because they had a chance to make a statement and once again failed miserably.I dont mind losing to Philly, after all its in their stadium. But to get beaten as badly as they did the way they did is inexcusable. The lions are only a better team in their own delusional minds, they simply arent a very talented or intelligent football team or organization for that matter.

It's funny,,,, they still can't run the ball,, they still turn the ball over in the endzone their D gets picked apart at will. Absolutely nothing has changed,, only the teams they played. Oakland(with a 3rd string WR/QB),,,, worst team in the league. Minnesota,,, a very bad team with a similar QB situation. Philadelphia,,, a "borderline" playoff team and a banged up QB and RB and 3rd string WR's. They "squeek" by the terrible teams and get PASTED by a mediocre team.

Well by the sounds of it the loins will be playing Griese this Sunday instead of Grossman...............not sure of this situation. I want to say it will be a godsend for the loins but they have disappointed me before.........we will see...................
