We just recently ended up with some new hunting property west of Carson City after a 20 year stretch in Muir. Many of our non-hunting hours were spent on Fish Creek, the Maple, the Grand in Lyons and other small tribs.

I have fished the Flat for smallies back in the 80's from a boat that we launched in Lowell above the dam. I also remember trying to float it with a canoe once somewhere up above there and getting into it with some lady at a canoe livery...lol Needless to say we didn't launch there

Now we're just looking for a walk-in access for a couple of hours of wading. Is there anything accessible between Greenville and Belding that might be worthwhile?

PM's are cool

Thanks :)

You can play on the river at the bridge on Kidville road. It is just north of Belding that runs out to Long Lake. I think there is a walk in access right by the bridge that crosses the river.

Also you can access the river up stream a ways via the State Game lands. I think they have a few gates up now, but you can walk in from there is isn't that far. Go east on 57 out of Greenville to first road going south. Go straight thru on the gravel where the road curves back to the east. Go around a curve and down the road about a 1/4-1/2 mile. Turn off onto the two track headed west. Go to the gate. River is just a couple hundred yards beyond that. Also back up the two track a little there is another trail that goes more to the south. That also goes to the river but is a longer walk in.
