I'm new to being a bow owner and was wondering if there were any measures that I could take to ensure a long life and accuracy of my bow? Are there any maintenance tips that I should be aware of before target practicing this year?

Wax the string, inspect the whole bow, if something does not look right take it to a pro shop. Check for splitting or cracking limbs, check the pulleys for play, they will move a bit when you push them left to right. But if they have alot of play take the bow to a shop. Lube the pulleys as well. Basically what I do is once a year I have my bow inspected by a good pro shop. Have them look it over and lube everything and wax the string. But I wax the string after every other time I shoot any how.
