i cannot find womens hunting apparel. if i do it's uninsulated. i have bibs right not what 2 of me can fit in. they are way too big. why can't these camo companys make womens clothing? all i want is to be really really warm and harvest some good lookin, and tasting deer. :yikes: Bass Pro, and Cabelas have womens sections, but is there hunting camo listed?? NO! i dont want to spent $150. for pants that will get me by. i want a pair that im comfy in, and not swimming in. the mens pants i have tried on are too big, and i have to roll them up, or pull them to my chest. they dont even come in a size small.

does anyone have suggestions??

yes, but im afraid it wont be warm enough, and its not a match to my new jacket.

That's where a good set of under themals come in. As for matching, I wouldn't be too concerned with that. I often go out with mismatched camo and have yet to get busted. I 've worn Advantage Timber pants and Mossy Oak shirt. It's all about breaking up your outline, that's it's only purpose, all you have to do is get as scent free as possible, stay downwind and stand still. Hunting ain't no fashion show and that includes the photo ops after the hunt.:D,

In the cold, I wear a light set and keep my shirt unbuttoned on my way to stand, then as I get closer, I put on the expedition weight and still leave the shirt unbuttoned, once on stand and I'm cooled down from the climb with I button up.

AND BY THE WAY...... WHAT IS UP WITH CAMO LONG JOHNS??????? Not only do they cost more, but the deer aren't going to see them anyway.

im not really worried how my butt looks in them!!! i just thought they should match. im going to get under armour, and do the same as you, but i get cold very easily. all i truly care about is staying hidden, scent free, and warm. it would be a plus to match though!!! <--typical right? lol

I agree. They should have the same type of clothing in the exact models for women as well. However I personnally use either my old BDU's or my cheap cotton camo clothing. I just wear alot of warm stuff underneath them. I'm a titewad:lol::lol:

I get cold quick too and I've finally got it to where I can stay warm most of the day. It does involve some of those chemical heat packs. Usually it's my toes that go cold first, then my fingers.

A little heads up on jackets though, something I found out the hard way. DO NOt get one that has those elastic cuffs, they trap heat in them while you walk and sweat+cold=miserable not to mention smell. Try to find one that has the adjustable velcro flap ones so you can leave it open slightly to allow heat to escape.

I'm waiting for my 10 year old camo to wear out so I have an excuse to get some Predator fall grey or deception. That stuff is awsome for breakup and it's a very simple pattern.

And if you have a boy friend, I'm sure he doesn't want your butt looking good in camo either, no need to start attracting other bucks to the area.

I just get mens stuff, but then, I'm 5'11" so most of it fits. Half the time, I have to get longs - whats up with the shorties? (My husband is 6'5")

My "hunting" gear consists of light fabric camo bibs in some sort of "tree" - realtree, mossy oak, something. I got them on sale 10 years ago. I have a pair of heavy insulated bibs from the feedstore, like Carhartt's off brand. They are warm. I buy mens boots, my regular pair uninsulated, my rubber knee high insulated. I have a camo long sleeve T shirt, and a orange camo 3 or 4 (or however many) - way parka that is big, but oh-so-warm.

That's it for hunting stuff. In fall when it's warm, I wear jeans, uninsulated boots, a tank top and the long T. As it gets cooler, I add tshirts and sweatshirts, long johns and an extra pair of jeans (those fat pants we women hoard are excellent for this!)

At the dead of winter, late hunt, I have it all on - silk long johns (top and bottom), woolly long johns (top and bottom), two pair of jeans, insulated bibs, camo bibs, a couple tank tops layered with tshirts - usually about 4 total, and two or three sweatshirts, and then the big parka with all the layers. Add a scarf, thick woolly camo hat, and thinsulate gloves and there isn't a snowstorm I can't handle. I may look retarded and about 100lbs heavier, but I'm warm, and I can move. The key is making the "tighter" layers (long johns)closer to your body, and the "bigger" layers (those L and XL sweatshirts) on the outside. Doing it that way doesn't restrict my movement.

Since I'm guessing your aren't tall like me ;) , get the smallest mens pants and hem them (or take them somewhere for like $5). Try large size kids apparel. I no longer look for womens stuff - it seems that they just add $$$$ to it, and most of it is like large kids stuff.

I do know I've seen some TINY Carhartts - Get a coverall (not bibs, the whole shebang), and then just look for the uninsulated camo. If I wear a flaming pink T-shirt under my camo, how can the deer tell?

As for matching, I can't even match socks. I figure if they are white, they match. My husband disagrees. Men!

Ask a rep there. Any pants you buy there, they'll hem them for free...might take a few minutes, depending on how busy they are.

I think the hemming is only done on certain pants like so:

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat601085-cat470177&id=0021795941141a&navCount=8&podId=0021795&parentId=cat470177&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IH&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat470177&hasJS=true

Not heavy insulated bibs. Instead of getting scent loc outerlayers try the base layer and put under your heavy stuff. Cabelas did have a heavy coat & bib made for duck hunting for women only comes in Max 4 pattern. Sorry I am surprised how little turned up on a internet search for Womens insulated hunting clothes.

If price is not a issue you can go custom made like greywolfwoolens.com
Good luck

Not heavy insulated bibs.

They did the hemming on my Columbia Gallatin pants. Dunno about bibs though. Could just use some safety pins.

If you're going to get anything like Scent lok or the like, stick with the shirts and pants or the under stuff. I really don't see the need for the scent lok jackets or bibs. Just hang your outer wear(jackets and bibs)outside overnight....if ya live in the country, you wouldn't want the city smell to follow you into the woods. And with the under stuff scent lok, you can buy ANY camo shirt or pant, etc.

So, when you finally find what you're looking for are you going to model them in this forum?:D

My wife went through the same problem, I complained to Cablea's and there womens section I swore grew smaller. She was lucky enough to find a pair of Browning Gortex Bibs in there Bargin Cave and Chose the Women Down Parka, she puts on here heavy weight thermal underware and she has not complained of being cold since. All this will cost you because it is women. I have found out that if camo has women on it, it cost more.

Also invest in some hot hands and tosty toes. The name brand not the off brand. Name brand seems to work better.

PM me if you have any questions, I was in your shoes a few years ago and I may be able to help.

Take a look at the actual catalog that cabelas sends out. You will see in pink it says in woman's available. It is easy to miss what ones are available unless you look really closely. They have nothing in the store that is for sure. I was going to by my wife the berber bibs last week and like most things at cabelas they are order only. Also look at basspro. They have some nice sets as well.
