Rubs?

When should I expect to see rubs? Was out last week and didn't come across any....seen bucks in area without velvet:confused:. Maybe I will find some next week. I could swear I was seeing alot more last year at beginning of bow season.

you should start seeing them now. I found 10-20 fresh rubs this weekend.

Also found some last weekend along field edges but don't disturb your hunting area looking for rubs or it might be the last ones you find.

I found a dozen this weekend while hanging stands. One was on a 6" diameter basswood.:D

I found a few last week, and only a few of the bucks have lost their velvet yet. I'm seeing lots of scrapes already.

the rubs are there its just so thick right now that they are hard to notice.

I was hanging stands this weekend and saw a few, wasn't really looking. I saw more scrape action than anything. Nothing huge but you could see the areas they were pawing moving soil, in the usual places we see them every year.

Saw some nice rubs this past weekend and decent scrap activity. On the edge of one bean field it looked like to two buck got it on the ground was tore up pretty good.

I had 4 small bucks in my plot yesterday (the 18th) and they all still had velvet. However, I also had a 5 point in my plot on Saturday and he had velvet hanging. I'm really surprised to see full velvet on the smaller bucks up here this late. In years past it seems they would always shed the velvet from the 1st through the 10th...

I am right there with ya, I have not seen any buck rubs or scrapes. Not a thing.
