Really losing the summer coat fast.
Most of the deer I've seen recently behind
the house are mostly out of summer coat.

We were out scouting Sunday and shot some video. All the fawns looked about like that one, maybe a few less spots and most of the bucks were in winter coat. The does were still showing off the summer coat though. Tonight we just drove around in a different area looking at deer and never saw one, buck or doe, with a summer coat on.

Seems there is a lot of variance among individual deer. I've seen some full winter coats and some still in full red recently. Ditto for velvet vs. polished antlers.

It is simply amazing how Mother Nature/the wild just take care of themselves & changes happen almost in a blink of an eye!!! One day, in summer coat.....within just a few days or a week or so......winter coat is in full force.
