I forgot to have Ken install a serving on my bow when he Hooked me up and i figured instead of spending $20 in gas for a $10 thing, i would go see pro fishing, called and talked to bill seems to be a nice guy, said it was his day off tomorrow but he was coming in to do a fitting at 10am, he told me to come in and he will help me out and do it why I wait... Sounds like good service

Not to bash MJC, but I called them first and they wanted $15 and a week with my bow, im not trying to be cheap here but pro fishing wants $5 to $10 depending on the type of serving ans is willing do do it while I wait... I wasn't expecting to have it done right a way, maybe a day or 2

I have gone to pro fishing for bait but never for anything else... we will see

Dont worry Ken I still have much love for your shop

I haven't had them do anything for me yet, but I've chatted with Bill. I'm going to give them a chance when I need something. From talking to him, he seems to believe in customer service. Let me (and the rest of us east siders) know how it works out.

Learn to do it yourself! What are you going to do when something goes wrong on hunting trip? Stop the trip come home early and wait to get the bow worked on..

No excuse not to be able to do any of the simple bow repairs your self.

IMHO.

Well when does class start? I have never done it before and don't no where to start... What do you do if it happens while hunting, well its called a back up bow..If it happens to two bows, well i don't need to hunt

Oh yeah by the way, bill is a great guy knows his stuff... I think im shooting my back up bow better then my other one... So thanks for the opinion but not every one has the knowledge or tools to do it....

Slayer not trying to start anything here. Buy the supplies from K&D or Pro.... Your serving needs to be done so get the stuff and they will show you how to do it. If not read how to do it. Even the "Pro Techs" started someplace. The tools are not that expensive, the job is not hard and the supplies will still support the local guy.

Sure make it sound easy Skinner. First, not everyone has the skill set to be a bow tech. (let alone the tools) That's not slamming anyone, it's a fact. Also, what about the time it takes? Sure, I could reload a box of shells, and might enjoy it too. But sometimes its easier to pay the $5 and just buy the box of AAs. I'm not a mechanic. I could probably learn to rebuild the transmission on my truck, but you know what ... not only do I not know how, I don't have the time. So I pay a mechanic ... just as I get paid at my job for the skills I have. Don't make it sound like someone rides the short bus to the bow shop. Maybe after you visit a shop you like enough times, and get to know the people, you can learn a few things. That's how the thread started in the first place.

Hey F-16 fixer guy.... Thanks for the I got your back:D

I was thinking the same thing but I didn't want to get flamed...Some time it is easier to go some where and get things done... If i cut my self sure I can grap a needle and thread and sew it my self but would I do it now... Same thing with working on my bow.. I would rather not try to start learning this time of the year, maybe some day when i have a ton of money to buy everything needed, but until then....
