Has anyone fished it lately? I haven't been out there in probably 2 months and was thinking about hitting it this saturday. What would be the best pattern for pike? I was thinking about floating a few suckers around some weed edges???

Any recomendations on types? Should we fish the weed edges or just fish the "ditch"?

I caught them out there on the weed edges that led to deeper water. As far as cranks this year I have done well with rattle trap, blue and silver with red gills and red hooks. I havent been to 4 mile this year ryan but the local lakes around me have fallen to the rattle trap for pike and i wasnt trying for them.

No one else has any tips on four mile pike?
I target bass on four mile, but not pike. However, I have caught a few pike along the deep edges using senkos, yum dingers, etc. So, i would recommend staying deep.

The trip sucked! We started off the day going to the bait shop. They said that people don't fish anymore so they dont have minnows. So that sucks since that was our main plan. Go to launch the boat get it in the water and the engine wont start. The wind is whipping and blew us into such shallow water i couldn't put the engine down. We have one canoe paddle and paddle for a long time against the wind and drop anchor to keep us there while we screw with the engine. After probably 20 minutes we get the sucker going. We get out there and realize oh crap no sunscreen. At the end of the day we didn't catch a single pike and only a hand full of dinky crappie and bluegill. Get back to the truck every thing goes well get ready to go on I-94 and i blow a flat on my truck. SWEET! Get all that crap done and finally get home. In summary I need to buy a new tire i have a really bad sun burn and i didn't catch jack s@#t! It may be a while tilli go back to four mile.

Ryan,
Sorry to hear about the disasters, but I will admit it made me laugh (cause of how many times it has happened to me!). I'm sure your next trip will make up for it.

I dont know it seems like every time i take my boat out since the end of july nothing has gone very well. It's pretty frustrating but i think next weekend im going to try a new body of water that i have never seen before and that will change my luck.
