What weight spoons do you throw and what brands,cleo's,k.o.wobbler,kastmaster,croc's or what? How about favorite colors I was just looking at my pier box and noticed that most of mine are cleo's.Plus or minus on my selection?

It's been quite a while since I did any pier fishing. But I used to do a lot of it. When I did my spoons were mostly 3/4 oz. Cleos. Generally green/silver, blue/silver, and the blue or green glow in the dark variety.
Man I miss hitting the piers in the thumb in the fall. :(

Try casting glow/blue, glow/green, or glow/orange 2/3 or 3/4 oz little cleos or a green/glow ko wobbler. I pounded the kings and Coho off the Elberta Pier about 3 weeks ago before I left for college. I went out one early morning for a couple hours and caught 3 kings(13, 14, and 16lbs) on 2/3 oz green and glow and 2 coho(3lbs and 7lbs). Two of the kings and both coho were caught on green/glow cleos and one king was on orange/glow cleo. Those were the three biggest kings I've caught off that pier and it all happened in one day with the cleos. There's still a lot of fish in the lake and I'm actually gonna be up there this Sunday to take out some buddies fishing. Good Luck!

:yeahthat: and fill your box with anything else you can get your hands on[garage sales, flea markets,etc....] because you never know what they are going to want that particular day/night.

Just out of curiosity, how come Daredevils are never mentioned among salmon spoons? Considering they have been successful forever with other species, I am kinda surprised....

LOL......I actually think there might be a king out there that would hit one if there was a red and white little cleo. I guess nobody's ever really tried one. I can see it representing a bleeding alewife.

There's no reason why it shouldn't work. The main reason I use Cleos and K.O. wobblers is their low profile makes for less wind resistance equaling longer casts to deeper water. Besides, they hit Moonshines!

There are red/white cleos and they do work for kings, browns, etc.

Hey bob,
Do you notice any difference between the orange spotted ones and the darker spotted ones?
