6-27-02 Report: Lake Erie, Bolles Harbor/Stony Point

For those interested read on,

The walleye action is hot right now on Erie. Try casting/drifting Crawler Harnesses and Erie Dearie in 20 to 25 foot of water outside Stony Point and Bolles Harbor.

Also heard of some fish being taken on Tots and Warts on boards. Chartreuse/Black and Gold/Black seem to some of the hot colors.

Warm temps and the recent Fish Fly Hatch has also started pushing these fish to the deeper water area around the Sister Islands.

Gooswa, you are right. I don't think the fishing could be better. We caught 13 fish in 5 minutes trolling gold wiggle warts. Ended up with 30 in 1-1/2hours. Everyone was hammering fish. Is there any doubt that Erie is the greatest fishery in the world?

We fished Thursday thru Sunday, and took a six man limit everyday in 19 feet of water off stoney point, drifting and casting erie dearies, what a blast. My cousins from Pa. couldn't believe the fishing could be that good. Good Luck!!
