During the summer months, what is the primary fishing on the american side? I am seeing that people are starting to target the canadien side for eyes and perch.
There are still plenty of Bass and 'Eyes to be had. Muskies hanging around The Horseshoe and lower lake all year.

I usually try to target the Eyes on the U.S. side mostly because of the slot limits in Canada. The South shore and East corner are tough to beat for Muskie in the summer months though. In the fall, I will fish Perch in the U.S. waters if I can find them but it seems the better schools end up across the ditch. Heck, the Bass are everywhere! ESOX, when you refer to the Horseshoe are you talking Anchor Bay? Just curious.
John, the far east end of deeper water south of Fairhaven. The opening of the "U" faces west. (Right where Anchor Bay and Bouvier Bay meet).

There is lots to fish for on the American side. The bass fishing is awesome, the walleyes will move to deeper water but there is plenty of that on the American side. the perch are there all year, there are muskies on the American side also, they are just a little harder to dig out. Lots of pike all year. If it wasn't for the superior Muskie fishing I wouldn't even buy the Canadian License.

Thanks guys,
Just wanted to make sure a boat rental will not be a waste of time this summer.
Downrod,
Congrats on selling your boat so quick and good luck on finding your new one. Now with this smaller boat your looking for, does that mean your first muskie will not be unhooked and used as your trolling motor?
Thanks again everyone:D

:D I never thought of that!! Actually I have been scooting around on my waverunner out in front of the 400 club and I've seen these huge weedbeds where I would have never taken my boat. I'm thinking, mount two rodholders off the wave runner and speed troll bucktails with no weight thru these wedbeds;) Only one problem, what if I actually hook one? LOL
