First off, I'd like to say hello to everyone. Most of my fishing has taken place in North and Northwest Pennsylvania. Being originally from Warren, Oh. it was only a short drive to the streams I commanly visited. But now I live and work in Toledo, Oh. and the drive is not so short anymore. But i do go back every so often. So now i have decided to turn my interests towards the streams of Michigan. I cannot remember how i heard of Paint Cr. but after some research it seemed like a nice place to start. So i was wondering if anyone can share any tips and tidbits on fishing that particular stream.
Thanks.

Try one of the many access points off the rails-to-trails railroad grade that parallels the creek for most of its run.
There are many crossings of this old grade over the creek where you can get access off the beaten path. I would concentrate on Tieken road and above. A good searching pattern is a zug bug, or hare's ear, if there is no hatch/risers going on.

Thanks for the advice. Going to try to scout the area Thursday morning. Question. Is Paint Cr. strictly a fly only creek or can I use a spinner rod too? And are there any Cr. that are just fly rod only? I know in Pa there are certain creeks that are designated as fly fish only. The problem is that there is very little casting room (and my roll cast needs work).
We just drove through part of PA to get out east. That is one fishy looking state!
The Paint probably won't be as rustic as you're used to, or as hilly, but there are trout in there.
If you are going to be around in April the state and the Michigan Fly Fishing Club stock the Huron River with some nice trout. The month of April on this stretch of river is special regulation catch & release and artificials only. On the traditional trout opener it becomes quite a 'meat market'. There is plenty of room to cast a fly line.

PAangler, unfortunately (in my opinion) the Paint is wide open to all methods of fishing, spinners, and crawlers included.
