Now that summer fishing is in full swing, has anybody been using the new plastic billed hot n tots and if so, how are they working for you?

EdB,
We have tryed a couple of the new ones and picked up a few fish, the new hottys do pull a lot harder than the old ones, but we are still partial to the older ones.

I used them last week on erie. They are called the "double downer's" by the "Producer Co." I used three colors and they seemed OK. I had to tune them after they caught fish, so not much different then tots. I'd buyed the $3.19 "DD" before I'd buy a more expensive Rapala Hot-n-tot, if I needed some more lures.

Ifish4eyes,
Thanks for the info on the Producers new lure. I had heard they were trying to make a duplicate for the old hot'n'tot. I was referring to the new plastic billed hot'n'tot made by Storm/Rapala. Rapala bought Storm and changed hot'n'tots from metal bills to plastic bills. The bill doesn't quite look the same so I assume it won't have quite the same action. Since tot's are one of my best walleye baits and also good for steelies and cohos, I was disappointed in the change. I have big supply of the old tots and picked up a couple new ones to run some side by side tests with the old tot's this weekend. I am still curious how others are doing using the new plastic billed tots?
