Question for you guys. What is the best way to secure my muskrat float set from floating away? Do I need to stake it down? I was thinking of maybe an ancor. What is legal or illegal? Thanks!!

I have two locations where I got permission to trap. Out side of the cat tails it is about waist deep at one location and the other location about knee deep.

what i do is get a pole about 4 foot long and wire it to the float with about a 3 or 4 foot long length between them if the water rises alot. if it doesnt you can use a shorter length of wire. hope this helped.

i went to the garden section of meijer and got some 6' poles(green&tan) and use them. on my floats i have a cable loop stapled on the back and run the pole thru that.
