Ginos, Metro, Basset, etc, etc.

Went out on the lake tues. from the spillway ramp. Went to Ginos and Metro area trolled crawlers on different color harnesses for about 1 1/2 hrs and got one perch and one sheephead. Went to the Basset area moved around to many spots. No luck. Came back by the St. Clair light area and same thing. Saw a lot of fish flys floating all ever the lake. Will try again next week.

At least you got out George, I haven't been on The Pond since June 1st! :( I do intend to make it this weekend. Are you heading out Sat. or Sun?

Believe it or not, I have had luck with wigglers on the pond after a fish fly hatch. Try drifting them with just a plain hook or tipping a pink or chartruse phelps floater with them.

While they are hatching (after dark) I have always done very well with big minnow baits twitched on the surface or bulged just under the surface. The fish are already up in the water column, and a nice tasty minnow is hard for them to pass up.

Esox, no I have to work this week end.
I did'nt go out till 10:30am and there were guys coming of the lake with fish. In this kind of weather I think it's best to get early at first light. Or just befor dark

i was out monday. i trolled harnesses, i may not of had them set up correctly. but i managed a sheepshead and a bluegill. i saw a big muskie on top. he was eating something. he was within 20 feet of my boat. i looked for something to throw at him,,,, nothing set up. maybe next time. noone i talked to had any fish to speak of.allot of guys anchored fishing perch. but i didnt see anyone catch a fish. lots of fish fly debris floating around. i fished from 7 am to 12 pm. good luck everyone. polar bear
