this weekend. Unreal, who would have thought that Dante would lose the job to McCown? :yikes:

"Josh McCown has apparently beaten out Daunte Culpepper for the starting quarterback job in Oakland. NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that coach Lane Kiffin is expected to announce McCown as his starter for Week 1 versus the Lions. McCown completed 24-of-47 passes (51 percent) for 352 yards this preseason, while Culpepper completed 26-of-46 passes (57 percent) for four TDs and one INT."

There are some pretty upset Raider Fans around the web forums. As a Lions fan I am happy though. Culpepper's record vs Lions? 16-0!

It doesn't matter who starts at QB this weekend. With that abortion the Lions call a secondary and their abysmal pass rush, my four-year old twin boys could rotate at QB and still end up with a 120 passer rating.

Is there a dumber person than JaMarcus Russell. He could have easily started for the raiders, well maybe Vick is dumber.

Isn't there going to be three ex Lion QB's starting this weekend? Garcia, Harrington and McCown?
McCown is a decent QB and I was hoping the Lions were going to keep him. The reason he was traded was mainly because the coaching staff told him he would start when he signed, but that was before they signed Kitna. Kitna won the job so they felt obligated to let him go. I still would rather we had McCown instead of O'Sullivan.
In any case, this is a big game for the Lions. One they need (and expect) to win. I really think they will be 1 : 0 next Monday morning, and 2 : 0 after Cincinnati.
Wouldn't it be nice?
