Hello sportspeople.

I got out to my favorite little Oakland County lake for an hour this evening. I wanted to catch a couple of fish and see how my new digital works. Well, here are the results.

They were both 16" and about 2 lbs.
The first one I caught unfortunately didn't survive. It was weird.
As soon as I brought it up into the boat I knew I'd need the pliers so I started reaching for them. As I went to get my frog back, that sucker was SWALLOWING IT ! I could see his throat muscles forcing the frog down his gullet. By the time I could get the pliers on it only about 1/2 of the eye was even visible. I've seen fish take a lure deep. But I've never actually watched one in the act of swallowing it ! Well, out of the DOZENS of fish I've caught there, this is the first that I KNOW didn't survive. I'm sure I didn't harm the population any.

Pretty nice pictures John.

I was out there with my dad last week. I see it is still very weedy eh?

You want to meet out there sometime, let me know.
I have been trying without success to work the scum frog. I have actually had better success with crickets and grasshoppers on a fly rod. - Nothing of generous size though.

Nice fish.

Sounds like fun Kevin.

We can hookup sometime. Just meet me out there and we can take my boat. I can show ya how I do it. (Actually, maybe we can get Byron to go. He's a better teacher than I am :))
We'll have to do it soon.

Yes, it is still VERY weedy out there. But that's why we use frogs ! :)
