looking to do some fishing labor day weekend

I live in bay city and im looking to do some fishing for trout,or salmon, wondering if any one can point me in a direction,i fish from shore, and i have some waders i like river fish .i usually goto mio dam but always catch litlle guys,whens a good time to get the biggens .any comments or advice or directions will be apreciated ,thank you!:confused:

Excellent answer. Rifle would be perfect for him. Pick a river, fish it, go to the fly shops, buy books and read about it . . . become an expert in it. I wish I lived closer to the Rifle.
